Dear friends,
First of all, my sincere apologies for not posting any article during the last few weeks.
But let's go back to business:
As most of you now know, I spent 2 months this summer in Paris. During those two months, I tried many new restaurants, went back to a few old one and missed many. Paris has far too many restaurants to try them all, specially when you start going to same restaurants more than twice !
The Flottes O'trement is one of the restaurants I visited the most in Paris, and this for many different reasons. The place is located on the first floor of the Brasserie Flottes, a well-know and delicious old school brasserie, located at the beginning of the rue Cambon.
Flottes O'trement serves upscale chic brasserie food with a twist of originality. You have to try their white or black truffle sandwich or their "aligot" serves with the beef !
It is simple, delicious and changes from the usual dishes you start to find everywhere (Yes ! I am indeed talking about you Mr. Grilled red tuna steak and Mrs. Beef tagliata! ). I can as well only recommend you their seafood preparation like the lobster ravioli we had last time...It was a killer! The wine list is on top of that is quite nice and has some cheap but tasteful surprises inside ( don't forget to ask the sommelier about it).
I know what you re thinking, what's so different with other chic restaurants Nico's been talking about? Well the service off course !!
I am a lucky guy and I've been to plenty of restaurants over the last years. But I think I can only count on my hands the places where the service reached that level. It actually starts at the reservation! Now that they know me ( by the way, don't forget to mention my last name when booking), I know they are going to choose a nice window table if on a date, or set me up at the big private table in the library (ask for it!) if with some friends.
Then, as soon as you arrive, you are taking care of. The wine is chosen for the aperitif, the coats are checked in and dishes are ordered.
It is a real pleasure to spend a whole diner not worrying about the food, the service or temperature of room, and just talking with your friends (although you might drink much more than planned due to the good time you are having).
In order to end the diner properly, you have no choice but to ordered the superlicious chocolate cake along with coffees and liquors.
I know it might sound a but too beautiful to be true but guys...it is !
I actually strongly recommend this place for a business diner, a diner with friends...and well even for a date (though i already told you about the perfect parisian date :-) )
From Milano with love
Mr Nico
