Last saturday I went for diner, with friends from Paris and Switzerland, in a great little japanese restaurant in Paris.
If I have to describe the food, I'll have to quote my friend Caro who thinks it is kind of "Nobuish but simpler".
In fact, the Orient Extreme, which is located off avenue Montaigne in front of the RTL radio building, does not only provide sushis but as well great dishes of fish, meat and vegetables.
Not all of us took starters but I just couldn't resist the Sashimi Moriwase which was great (although it lacked Toro) and quite cheap (thanks to the lack of Toro) by looking at the size of the portion served.
As a main course, most of us followed Caro's recommendation and took the Black Cos with caramelised teriyaki sauce. I normally always order this dish when at Nobu and I have to admit, this one was as great if not better. For the simple reason that it was less sugary and cooked. You could still really enjoy the taste of the fish.
(By the way, I learnt that black cod and cod were two very different things. If someone could explain me the difference and send me picture and the real french word for black cod I would really appreciate it )
After a classical green tea ice cream, I went on for a hell of a crazy night with Alexandra, Mathieu and Julia that took me from the Lonchamps horsetrack's party to the BC (Black Calavados) until 5am !!! I guess Paris will always have new great party place to prevent me from going to bed at decent hours...
Tonight I am trying an Italian that is supposedly really good. More on that later.
Mr. Nico,
Live from a bar serving truffle flavoured grilled peanuts (crazy right?!)
