Probably Milan's best Cotoletta

Last weekend, I went for diner with my friend Philippe and Serena. Philippe is french and moved to Milan a year ago and has always some cool addresses he wants me to discover.

So last saturday, when we arrived in front of the restaurant "Pont de Ferr" in the Navigli area, which was as always completely booked, Philippe knew exactly where to go!

We arrived at Damm-Atra after a 10 minutes walks in the Navigli.

After a glass of white pinot grigio on the terrace, our table was finally ready for our late diner.

Damm-Atra serves typical food from the Milan area that includes the Milanese starters (polenta, fried potato skin and gnocchi fritti), the famous cotoletta and the osso bucco. As you might have understood, that place was a proper aggression to my diet...but I don't regret one single bite !

Serena and I, following her wise advice, ordered the cotoletta (made in the veal "burro" which is the best part) that is a bit thicker that usual but delicious. Philippe took the osso bucco that was served with a perfectly al dente cooked safran risotto.

But that wasn't it! After that, we ordered some desserts since it was included in the menu (22,50€). I took a tiramisu (I know ! But it's a compulsive addiction) made with amaretto biscuit which was really good but maybe a bit heavy and sweet in the end.

But Serena had the best dessert and we were all quite jealous. She ordered the "sciura Maria", a pear kind of tart dessert with cream and chocolate on top (think Sally at Katz's). You can actually see the pleasure in Serena's eyes on the picture featuring her dessert.

I don't need to tell you that we had many liquor with our coffee in order to manage to stand up and leave the restaurant cause we were just so full ! I had a great time with my friends and ate for 4 days :-)
